1st April 2021 Same great service just more local
From the 1st April 2021 the extended access service is changing
BEVAN and Symphonie are working together to deliver an evening and weekend service for our collective patients
The service will provide over 100 hours of additional clinical capacity delivered outside of core hours specifically for routine pre bookable appointments targeted at patients who find it difficult to get in to practice during our core hours
The service will continue to offer the same range of appointments as the current ACCESS+ service These hours will be made up of a mix of staff including GPs, Clinical Practitioners, First Contact Physiotherapists, Physician Associates, Practice Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Assistants
Booking
Patients will not be able to book through 247111 from 1 st April 2021 all appointments must be made by the patient’s own practice Appointments will be moving to a new dedicated SystmOne Hub Unit and for SystmOne practices appointments will be booked in the same way as the existing service EMIS practices will now utilise the GP Connect appointment booking system found within the EMIS clinical system.
Test Results
The results of all investigations requested through the ACCESS+ service will be returned to the ACCESS+ service and reviewed by the clinical team and any action taken as necessary
Referrals
Any referrals recommended within the ACCESS+ service will be completed and sent from within the ACCESS+ service
Locations
Currently the service will continue to offer a mix of telephone/video and Face to Face appointments All GP and Clinical Practitioner appointments will be by telephone for the first contact, however should the Clinician feel a face to face appointment is warranted the patient will be offered either to book a Face to Face appointment within the ACCESS+ service or contact their own GP Practice to arrange
We will continue to operate out of Bransholme Health Centre and are currently looking at a second hub in the West of the city It is envisaged the second site will go live in May 2021
